Members of the Council of Torah Sages and Shas Olami visit Sephardic communities throughout the Jewish diaspora to find out about their needs and how we can assist them. Our goal is to connect these distant and minority communities more closely with the thriving Sephardic community in Israel. During 2019, we led missions to France and the United States, and a special mission to Tunisia.
We support community and education projects in the Diaspora that teach the Hebrew language, promote Zionism, and teach the history and heritage of our Sephardic ancestors. We encourage the study of Halacha (Jewish law) according to the legacy of Maran HaRav Ovadya Yosef zt”l, and support Torah education projects throughout the Jewish world.
The World Union of Sephardic Communities hosts an international convention for Rabbis and community leaders every year in Israel, and plans to run regional conventions in North America, South America, and Europe.
